After that you would have to show you are working, if you're an able bodied adult. This was good for people who lost their jobs and were struggling to make ends meet.

the majority of those on welfare are hispanic and african american. no doubt there are whites on it, but in general, whites get screwed on these kind of benefits by typically not being accepted to have them to start with.

But the kind of ghetto fuckery I heard in line at DPSS (i.e. How to scam temporary disability and get more food stam money) made me wish everything got cut off. Christmas came early.

2019-12-07 at 1:46 AM UTCmy father, was involved in an on work accident that left him unable to work for a fews years when we were young children. fortunately, a lot of vocational and trade schools were forming and he was able to get a grant to enroll. even though he qualified for a grant and full ride scholarship, he still did not qualify for food stamps having 3 children and home not paid for and no food and work.
and the thing i remember most about those times were we drove a broken down station wagon and prayed for gas money. and the blacks were driving in with cadilacs and nice shiny rims and as we were being turned down for government peanut butter and food stamps, them mofo's were using shopping carts to fill the backs of their cadilacs up with free food.
so, pardon me here, for not shedding a tear thinking about all of those soon lazy bastards gonna starve to death finally!! -

I mean there's a lot of Trump supporters who use government programs, but from my personal experience the people who actually need it are few and far between. Those 3 years I could've probably easily worked, but it was better for me to sell drugs and get $200 for groceries and medi-cal. I know SO MANY people who traded me their EBT for .40/$1 . By and large, it's just an entitlement program for lazy fucks, and they absolutely should make it harder to get. -

11% of Americans are on food stamps. This takes food away from the 0.02% who need it while looking for work. These are not people scamming the system. This law was already strict enough as is, and implemented during the 2008 recession. You can only do it for up to 3 months out of a 3 year period then it auto shuts off if you're not able to prove you are working.
Just kicking some of the most desperate Americans while they're down. I guarantee you multiple users here have had to use this at one point or another and are either working with food stamps or not on it anymore.
