    Hey it's winter time

You know what that means. Europe is now Russia's bitch because if you piss them off they simply cut off the gas to Europe or charge more

That's why Germany didn't say shit after Malaysia Airlines because they rely on Russian gas pipelines
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

Germany had little to do with Malaysia airlines, those were Dutch citizens that rained out of the sky after the hit. And i have reason to believe Ukranian forces are behind the downing of MH17.

Everyone was angry at Russia and denouncing them for Arming the rebels

Except Germany they were like "let's wait to see the report before we point fingers" (next year after winter lol)

It was only a matter of time before Russia stepped in to defend it's regional interests. I don't blame them, NATO has been encroaching on Russia and her traditional allies since the end of the Cold War, through means fair and foul. Another color revolution to disrupt Ukrainian and Russian relations would have been really bad for Russia. For one, Ukraine at least at the time owed Russia more than 2 billion USD on outstanding gas import payments. More importantly if Russia had lost access to the Crimea they would have lost the Sevastopol port, which is home to a Russian naval base. If you know anything about Russia you know naval bases from which they can launch deep water fleets and such are hard to come by. The simple fact is, Russia is always low on ports because most of the ones they do have freeze solid in the winter.

Donetsk and Luhansk act as buffer between Ukraine proper and the Crimea.

    Not really.

And it is kinda old fashioned that Russia still even tries to compete with Europe or America, when they obviously can't. For instance in the field of aerospace or communications. I think Russia is stopping that, and just doing the things that it is good at now, which makes sense. Whereas China is going the opposite direction.

How big is Russia's economy compared to the US?

In overall gross domestic product, the World Bank ranked Russia 11th, with $1.5 trillion in GDP, trailing behind Canada, Italy and Brazil. The United States and China topped the GDP rating at $19.4 trillion and $12.2 trillion each.Jul 13, 2018
