   price is the prime motivation on why i have so many 7.62x39 bang sticks. the entire round is about 19-cents when handloading component bullets alone are about 20-something cents each. thats what i give to people who come shooting with me to use so they dont use my expensive ammo.

   if youre going to do AR lowers, get one of the jigs that let you use a router. DO NOT USE A DRILL TO MAKE A FUCKING LOWER. i dont know who invented that idiot idea but they come out looking like shit. and dont use 6-series alloy...use 7-series. and dont base what you buy on 'cheap' because you get what you pay for. there is too much shit-tier components out there that people are building with.
   
   i wont ever try to build a kalashnikov from a stamped lower. i know someone that has a fetish for building them and it takes forever to do and is a lot more complicated.

   scrappers will pick them up because theres a slab of pure copper wire that weighs several pounds (depending on the screen size) and the only issue with hazmat is there is a minescule amount of lead in the first few inches of where the electron guns are. you must live in some shit hole because where i live in civilization they dont/cant charge a fee because then people will take their hazmat out into the woods and dump it for free.

   ive never built an AK but the guy i know that does takes days to do it. he has a giant press that he forms the sheet from then has a real commercial foundry that he heat-treats the steel several (i dont remember how many) times, then does some shit with red-hot rivets, then more heating to get the barrel/trunnion together, then more complicated shit i dont have the shop materials to make.
   
   from what i saw of the AK build its a thousand times easier to build up an 80% AR. its just a matter of following the direction, and the biggest key is: GO SLOWLY. TAKE YOUR TIME. thats pretty much all you need to know.
   
   if youve never milled an AR id suggest getting the cheapest polymer one you can find then practice on that one. the aluminum 7-series and 6-series are more expensive...but its still shit-tier aluminum so a hardened mill bit will eat it almost as quickly as polymer.
   
   7 series aluminum is supposed to be more expensive, but i havent seen that in the real world. ive seen 6 series more expensive than 7...which i find odd since 7 is more involved to manufacture. 7 series is 'harder' and 'stronger' based on its heat treating. the actual alloy is pretty much the same.
   
   6 series aluminum isnt heat treated as much as 6 and is 'softer' so the mill bits last longer.
   
   they make all kinds of 80% lowers. glocks...1911s...AR10...AR15...AR45/10...9mm...
