I used to watch "the real news network" news videos which is literally old school radical socialists from baltimore that my mother would watch religiously if she were american. They do good long form interviews but are as far left as a lot of fake news outlets are far right -
2019-11-21 at 3:02 AM UTCI want to talk about Kolomoiski and how funny what is happening to him is anyway though.
Basically when the Maidan 'protests' were in full swing, he saw the government falling apart and was terrified Russia was going to invade and save them. To protect his factories and profits in the central-east, he raised the first 'volunteer battalions' by invoking nationalism among the poor and disaffected youth. When it became obvious Russia wasn't invading, he didn't want to keep paying them so he palmed them off to the new 'state', who paid them salaries and used them as a paramilitary force.
Anyway, skip to today and he's still one of the biggest and most politically involved oligarchs in the country. He's backed by the US and has largely backed Zelensky (the current President), who won the election on the basis that the people want the war (or 'anti-terrorist operation) to stop, but the real powerbrokers (the aforementioned volunteer battalions as well as competing oligarchs like Tymoshenko as well as the US foreign policy establishment) need it to go on. Keep in mind that Kolomoisky does not really want to stop the war either but he doesn't want to lose his entire fortune or his life.
The volunteer battalions have turned on him (partially because of his overwhelming j'ewry and partially because he backed a President who wants to stop the war) - the groups he raised have been making death threats against him and leaving bloody effigies of him all over Kiev.
As a result, he's now openly talking about rapprochement with Moscow, which puts him firmly in the crosshairs. Well, more than before. -
2019-11-21 at 3:14 AM UTCah I didn't know there was a falling out with his battalians, I know they were basically incredibly effective and managed to quell any unrest west of the dniper river. They were eventually "rented" out too by other oligarchs. I think he also used them to "arrest" another oligarch if I'm not mistaken. He beefs with other oligarchs pretty routinely. He's still pretty close to zelensky as far as I can tell so if he moves towards moscow, chances are it's because Ukraine will likely do that too. The EU is getting weaker and more ineffectual while russia is still moving with momentum. Who the fuck can Ukraine rely on besides them?
Donetsk and Luahnsk are going to be federalized and have veto power over resolutions if the war ends and they're going to be hubs for european trade. Point is, Zelensky is smart enough to know it's a war he can't win and has to pivot east because the EU has only ever paid them lip service that their country was stupid enough to riot over while their historical neighbor only gave them aid, loans, preferential trade agreements and cheap gas. -

lul
and yeah, Zelensky was largely elected to stop the war and try to normalise relations with Russia - it's what the people seem to want, but the people don't really have any immediate political power. Kolomoiski only really cares about himself and his fortune but I think he's come to realise the west isn't going to save him. in the past he's actually used his influence to have the Volunteer Battalions clear people from land under the guise of military operations so that his companies could use it for mining or oil drilling operations.
A quote I like is that 'even if the entire outside world were to disappear, the fighting in the Ukraine would only intensify' - there's simply too little plunder and too many scavengers. more of the people in power seem to be realising the situation is untenable -

2019-11-21 at 5:30 AM UTCLOL Rudy is so fucking incompetent. Idk who was feeding his intel that Tymoshenko had a chance of getting the presidency and isn't just another oligarch they can't get rid of though. I remember jacking off to pictures of her while on house arrest then finding a porn star who had similar hair (not exact but similar) and having a field day. I really want to hate fuck her stupid ass.
She's Ukraine's Hillary. That actually gives her too much credit, she was never really a viable candidate for presidency for the same reasons Hillary lost

2019-11-21 at 11:17 AM UTCSo the conservatives that claim loudly and proudly that they're too smart to be lied to by the fake media decide to circulate a fake news article on Twitter and FB. Even the "Q" account (who is probably Spectral) linked to it. Lol this world is hilarious.

OAN is not social media. It is an up and coming cable news outlet. Facts are facts even if Don Lemon does not report them. -

2019-11-21 at 1:47 PM UTCREUTERS UPDATE:
Ukraine has widened its probe against the Burisma founder to include the embezzlement of state funds, according to Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka said on Wednesday. There allegedly is a summons for the Burisma head to appear for questioning.
Hunter Biden and other Democrats are suspected of being tied to the embezzlement, according to Ukraine MPs who gave a press conference on Wednesday.
Reuters reports:
Ryaboshapka’s predecessors oversaw a series of investigations into Zlochevsky, a multimillionaire former minister of ecology and natural resources. The allegations concern tax violations, money-laundering and licences given to Burisma during the period where Zlochevsky was a minister.
Ryaboshapka said Zlochevsky was now suspected of the “theft of government funds on an especially large scale,” but did not provide evidence or details.
Ryaboshapka was speaking after being asked about a document from the general prosecutor’s office that was leaked at a separate press conference by three lawmakers earlier on Wednesday.
The document, only part of which was visible, showed Kulyk suspected Zlochevsky of offences including using his official position to embezzle 800 million hryvnias ($33 million) of money belonging to the central bank.
The investigation is effectively on hold, however, because the Ukrainian authorities cannot determine Zlochevsky’s whereabouts…
[The prosecutor investigating is Kostiantyn Kulyk] -
2019-11-21 at 1:53 PM UTCA Ukrainian MP says a document leaked from the Ukraine's Office of the Prosecutor General contains claims against Burisma owner Nikolai Zlochevsky, as well as Hunter Biden and his partners - who allegedly received $16.5 million for their 'services' - according to Alexander Dubinsky of the ruling Servant of the People Party.
Dubinsky made the claim in a Wednesday press conference, citing materials from an investigation into Zlochevsky and Burisma.
"Zlochevsky was charged with this new accusation by the Office of the Prosecutor General but the press ignored it," said the MP. "It was issued on November 14."
"The son of Vice-President Joe Biden was receiving payment for his services, with money raised through criminal means and money laundering," he then said, adding "Biden received money that did not come from the company’s successful operation but rather from money stolen from citizens."
According to Dubinsky, Hunter Biden's income from Burisma is a "link that reveals how money is siphoned [from Ukraine]," and how Biden is just one link in the chain of Zlochevsky's money laundering operation which included politicians from the previous Yanukovich administration who continued their schemes under his successor, President Pyotr Poroshenko.
"We will reveal the information about the financial pyramid scheme that was created in Ukraine and developed by everyone beginning with Yanukovich and later by Poroshenko. This system is still working under the guidance of the current managerial board of the National Bank, ensuring that money flows in the interest of people who stole millions of dollars, took it offshore and bought Ukrainian public bonds turning them into the Ukrainian sovereign debt," said Dubinsky, adding that "in both cases of Yanukovich and Poroshenko, Ms. Gontareva and companies she controls were investing the stolen funds."
Franklin Templeton named
According to Interfax-Ukraine, MP Andriy Derkach announced at the same press conference that deputies have received new materials from investigative journalists alleging that the 'family' of ex-President Yanukovych funneled $7.4 billion through American investment firm Franklin Templeton Investments, which they claim have connections to the US Democratic party."
"Last week, November 14, the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO), unnoticed by the media, announced a new suspicion to the notorious owner of Burisma, ex-Ecology Minister Zlochevsky. According to the suspicion, the Yanukovych family is suspected, in particular, with legalizing (laundering) of criminally obtained income through Franklin Templeton Investments, an investment fund carrying out purchases of external government loan bonds totaling $7.4 billion," said Derkach, adding that the money was criminally obtained and invested in the purchase of Ukrainian debt in 2013 - 2014.
"The son of Templeton's founder, John Templeton Jr., was one of President Obama's major campaign donors. Another fund-related character is Thomas Donilon. Managing Director of BlackRock Investment Institute, shareholder Franklin Templeton Investments, which has the largest share in the fund. It is noteworthy that he previously was Obama's national security advisor," Derkach added.
Derkach then demanded "President Zelensky must pick up the phone, dial Trump, ask for help and cooperation in the fight against corruption and fly to Washington. The issue of combating international corruption in Ukraine with the participation of citizens, businessmen and U.S. officials should become a key during the meeting of the two presidents."
