Folks: it's the most (and only) likely outcome for what happened.
He tried to kill himself and failed: nobody was crying murder/body double back then because there was no evidence for it because he clear as day tried to kill himself.
He did not have a change of heart. He learned some things from his first try and figured out what he could do better the second time. Practice makes perfect. Do you really need to go to the trouble of performing a ridiculously risky operation of killing someone when they are actively trying to kill themselves anyway?

Because that's not how the system works. I have literally worked suicide watch before: you check every 15 minutes for a set period, which is not very long, then 2hr intervals, then 4, and before you know it they're already off as long as they aren't trying to or talking about hurting themselves. You don't stay on it for weeks and weeks or months like the media pretended is how it works.
The guards turned off the cameras and let him kill himself; or if anyone killed him it would be them, but again, that's so incredibly unlikely that it's not really worth mentioning, especially with what we know.
And for some reason people keep saying that it's odd for him to have jumped as high as he could before falling to his death. That's not weird at all, that's the CORRECT way to do it. The point is not to make an easy, breezy, beuatiful jump for the judges, the objective is to kill yourself and give yourself the best chance of doing so. I mean that's what I would do.

I agree. I think what actually happened is
- High profile pedos send Jeffy boy a visitor
- Visitor reminds Jeffy Boy that he's going to prison for the rest of his life, as a pedo, and will be thrown in federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison this time, not white collar resort prison: either he can make "the rest of his life" short and kill himself or they will pull strings and make it a living hell. He's not getting out, these are his two options.
- Pull strings to have him taken off suicide watch and the cameras fucked with to provide plausible deniability to all involved.
After that, the problem takes care of himself.
