Not really.
I was with a friend and we were watching a story about Jim Henson when star wars was about to be released. there was a big build up of him being involved in some of the costumes I guess with George Lucas.
Ever since I was a kid, I had a fascination of film making . and wished I had been born a little bit later so I would of had a chance with digital HD since everyone doing indie films prior to 2000 knew how fucking expensive it was to process roll. and you probably ruin 95% of film. and the hours and hours of roll feed all over the floor. It was apart of the challenge and fun or passion but it was known to separate the more serious film makers from the hopefuls who would usually say "Fuck this.. never doing this ever again" type.
Alot of younger people in digital format don't realize this. and most directors did editing before moving up or at least knew how to take it on if their editors dropped out or had down time.
but I digress. We saw the servo and mechanical puppetry and the people who made Puppets and he was going to ask his mom to kick in for the electronic stuff from Radio Shack materials and I was to ask my Mother if she could show me how to stitch on her sewing Machine
She said "Ohh Come On. What a faggoted thing to ask. I can understand the mechanical part but come on"
Shot me down cold. My older brother G laughing at me with his friends. All day long "Faggot.. you little faggot. you going to make me a shirt, faggot"
70s was harsh times.
this is why I wish I was raised by jedis. Pops would of said "Sure kid.. let me bring you down to the sweat shop and show you"
