Making $18/hr now, which while not being super great isn't bad. I can remember when I first turned 18 and it was a dream to make $10/hr and now I've almost reached double that. I may see my most recent goal of $20/hr yet. I guess they recently bumped up the pay cap to $25 so I might even see that some day.

And you think that poland isnt the west? I know Russians and Ukrainians who come to the u.s. and are more than happy making $18/hr. They go back home afterwards and dont stay to live in the u.s., but to them $18/hr is good. With such pay per hour and busy work weeks, they could either work half a year in the u.s. and then not work the other half in Russia/Ukraine, or they could work the whole year back home for the same amount.

I guess its not bad if you live with roomates and not in a big city in the u.s. like a smaller town. But id still probably be living paycheck to paycheck knowing how espensive beers are in clsi at least.

Sure, in the u.s. this is not very good. You want at least $20 in the u.s. But I know one guy who came to work for a year or so, then went back to Ukraine and bought a condo... He was in his early 20s. This is not a bad achievement. He was getting paid I think $19/hr.

Well the thing sbout Poland is that everything good about it can be attributed to huge eu money coming in. They banked real hard when they became a eu member otherwise theyd probably be another ukraine. Also, even though the wages tend to be two or three times less, besides it or software develoepre thwt make huge bank like three grand per month or more in us dollars, the prices of electronics is like twice as hard like apple products are at least 30 percent more expensive. But the hosung or apartment rental prices are cheap. But electronics and shit like starbucks cost way more than even in usa.

Also a mixed drink like a mojito will end up costing the same depsite people making a third in the usa for it.

that is what the general salary for floor machinists in every shop all across america and they feed their families on it. 18 - 22 is standard pay. when i was 24, i was making 25 hourly and as a single man then was able to bank crazy. i got married so i could then watch it all be removed from my possession to hers, but that is another story.

I would rather have some slavic vodka along with onions and pickles than a mojito tho. How much is the vodka over there?

This kind of mom and pop home exterior company that built a good name for itself. A lot of what we do is insurance work like hail damage to roofs, soffit, fascia, gutters, et cetera. During the winter we do a lot of snow removal.

I made minimum wage right out of highschool, so I actually almost tripled that in 10 years. My post wasn't clear, but I was saying there used to be a time when I aspired to make $10/hr and now I'm dreaming about $25/hr. It's just crazy where life takes you when you just buckle down and work hard.

Yeah, my wife and I have gone over the budget time and time again and have figured out we'd be able to survive off of $16/hr, but now that's what she makes, and I obviously make more than that, so for the first time since having kids we're starting to feel like things will be okay. We've both been making adult decisions and are starting to see the reward.

My best advise is to avoid debt as much as you can.

I've learned my lesson with that. I don't finance shit anymore, don't borrow so much as a quarter from anyone, et cetera. Fuck debt of any sort.

theres no increase if you convert your pay into ounces of gold per hour.

    it might even decrease.
