And all of you are stupid enough to carry them for the most part. If you were intelligent like me you'd realize this and use it to your advantage.
EDIT: see back in the day, when these things didn't exist, us intelligent people were still the extreme minority compared to the rest of you, we didn't have this as an advantage. Even military personnel are carrying them. Everywhere you go people are carrying these things and they are not only extremely easy to track, they are also extremely easy to compromise.

If you need to make phone calls, a landline or cellphone is perfect for the task.
You don't need to be connected to the web everywhere you go, and having devices that keep everyone constantly connected to the web is detrimental to the health of society.
Kids don't even go outside anymore, or over to their friend's house so they can play video games and watch movies together.
Smartphones and the web are alienating and soulless. -

It is true that technology is used in ways that are not life affirming.
Technology should augment life. For instance phones allow you to navigate and set up meetings with friends, they have cameras for memories, and they have apps for learning.
Some people use technology in order to avoid life - to become isolated, provide a social outlet, distract oneself, etc.
As a hikikomori you would be an expert on that.
I think the key is to always focus on the aesthetic aspects of life, and continuously evaluate what you are doing and ask yourself "am I living the best possible life I could be living". -

An entire generation will grew up with zero understanding of real world interaction and normal human life, at least I got to experience that during my childhood.
