   Like I said, a proportionally representative system would solve that issue. FPTP voting is inherently flawed and geared to polarize voters.
   
   Also the electoral votes are not what you think they are. Yes, its a system where rural communities get more voting power and thus "equal" representation, but it also effectively nullifies some voters. Like a Democrat living in Mississippi for example. The electoral college will shift in favor of the Republicans, and their vote will now count as a Republican vote because FPTP is a winner takes all system. There are alot of democrats and Republicans in those final counts that in fact voted the opposite.
   
   Its just a really fucked system that no other democracy uses. There are ways of making it fair without nullifying voters.
