A metric ounce is 100g, an imperial ounce is 25g. A metric pound is 500 grams an imperial pound is 16 ounces, so 16 times 25g is 400g.

The single and only reason Canada changed to the metric system was to confuse the people and make a mountain of money for themselves in the process. They were also able to short people on portions, by reducing what you get for the same price. One of the greatest scams of the century.
