Behold, the Harpy Eagle

  1. #1
    Galapagos Yung Blood

The harpy eagle lives throughout Mexico and South America. They are a sexually dimorphic species, with the females being on average several pounds heavier than their male counterparts. The largest recorded Harpy Eagle was a female named Jezebel, who weighed a whopping 27lbs (12.3kg). They live in the canopy of the rainforest, and primarily eat sloths and monkeys, such as capuchin monkeys, saki monkeys, howler monkeys, titi monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and spider monkeys. In times of desperation, they have known to attack other birds, as well as iguanas and snakes. Some farmers claim they have seen harpy eagles flying off with livestock, like sheep, goats, and small pigs.
