And yet they give convicted terrorists who murdered a Canadian soldier and blinded another $10,000,000.00 in one lump sum payment. They also let people out after just a few years who cut off a poor kid's head on a bus. Not to mention they take in thousands of completely undocumented middle eastern foreigners who could be anything from murderers to rapists to thieves. But a DUI is baaaaad. Go figure. -

"According to witnesses, McLean was sleeping with his headphones on when the man sitting next to him suddenly produced a large knife and began stabbing McLean in the neck and chest. The bus driver pulled to the side of the road so that he and all the other passengers could exit the vehicle. The attacker then decapitated McLean and displayed his severed head to other passengers standing outside. The driver and two other men had attempted to rescue McLean but were chased away by Li, who slashed at them from behind the locked bus doors. Li then went back to McLean's body and began severing other parts and consuming some of his victim's flesh. On February 10, 2017, the Manitoba Criminal Code Review Board ordered Li be discharged. Li was granted an absolute discharge. There will be no legal obligations or restrictions pertaining to Li's independent living."

Explain the aggrivated part. I think we're all aware arson means intentional fire -

Yeah, I posted the article (on zoklet) about that beheading on the bus when it happened, just to mock the canadians pathetic reactions to it. Omgz he has a sword he's invincible.
All the 20 something year old dudes that ran scared shitless. If that happened around here somebody would've shoved that thing up his ass.
but then again, we have more schizos in my part of the world. Maybe we're used to dealing with them. A degree in psychiatry will do wonders around here, even though the average salary is half what it is on the west coast. -

Cuts a random kid's head off and eats parts of his body, in front of a crowd even, but now he's walking around and free as a bird without even probation. -

The way i understand it, "aggravated" arson is an arson with some aggravating factor, like when the offender foresees or anticipates that one or more persons will be in or near danger.
It's an enhancement, like in some places you have an enhancement when you use a gun in the commission of a crime. So what the prosecutor was arguing was that you recklessly and knowingly put people in danger through arson. You'd think reckless endangerment would qualify, but that doesn't speak to intent or premeditation.
The most generous interpretation of this verdict that i could think of would be: Don't set stuff on fire, you might hurt someone. In fact you should have known this. -

What is the context you're posting about the chink beheading the guy on the bus? I know a guy who was on the bus at the time and they put all the passengers on planes or found them other accommodation but for whatever reason he insisted on taking a bus so they put him in a motel for the night somewhere in Manitoba and he bought crack that he thinks was full of meth because he smoked it all night then got the bus the next morning and had vivid PTSD all sketched out thinking people were going to try to kill him so he was fingering a knife he had on him, all tweaked on methy crack a couple days after he just saw a chink behead a guy on the same bus as him. The way he tells the story he makes him sound like a hero getting old people to safety but he's kind of a storyteller. He's interviewed on the news about it a bunch of times, it's a weird thing. -

seriously though, opposition to the omar khadr settlement is snowflake cuckholdery announced. Canada should be held accountable for the illegal torure and detention of its citizens and if you don't think so you're a massive big state cuck. Thankfully most people are smart enough to understand what the settlement was about
