I worked for years at that wage just starting out. Then again, a pack of smokes was 69 cents, and you could get a bag of candy for 2 cents. Gas was 20 cents a gallon.

Then they lay a bunch of people off so you have to take on and do all the work they would have been doing. They absolutely hate paying $14/$15 hour. Drives them crazy. If you work two 8hr shifts you should be making 105 not 80. Even at these tipping jobs your income needs to be above minimum wage by federal law. You can't legally make less (including the tips) and if you're making a measly 80 for two days you need to bring that up to your boss. -

I told you in the other thread, look up the FLSA. This is a federal law which trumps TX law, not that TX probably has anything on the books to refute.
If min wage is 5/h but you make 2.50 because tips, and come out with 7/h after 1h of work, THATS OKAY. But if you make only 4.50/h your boss has to comp you the 50 cents so that you're making at least minimum wage.
Any time you make less, you need to inform your boss and they legally have to pay you up to min wage no matter which of the 50 states you're in.
