Seasteading and sterilization are the answers to overpopulation

If you want to prevent overpopulation here are two things you can do:

One is to create seasteads and send the undesirables there
Two is to give people the chance to extend their lifespan indefinitely (look up Bioviva/Liz Parrish and Aubrey Degray) but only if they sterilize themselves first.
Most people will absolutely want to live indefinitely in their VR paradise while tripping out on legal narcotics in their little highrise cyberpunk apartment, so they'll take that option then after about two generations the human population will shrink from 15 - 20 billion down to 2 billion or even less.

Localized wars. Civil wars. Probably not going to happen in the US, but we're really close, still. If the Antifa puts their money where their mouth is and seriously begins to train with weapons to the point where they can shoot something else than their toe ...

People will die. A small percentage, sure, but even 5 percent would be enough to free up some jobs. Free up some benefits. And then there will be an exodus of those who don't want or can't stand and fight. Not all civvies dream about taking up weapons after all.

Take a look at how efficiently Venezuela and South Africa "manages" their population.

Back then people were hardened and had resolve. As it stands now, a large part of both male and female population in the western world (can't be arsed to find actual percentages) are still virgin in their 30s. Do you think those kind of people would have the dedication to produce children under stress, if they can't do so in a relaxed environment?

As said, I can't be arsed to find actual statistics, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But to give you some circumstantial evidence of that, morbid obesity, "incels" and the prevalance of pornography which confuses young people about sex are all fairly recent problems which were at best unique issues during WW2 and at worst completely unheard of.
