and this thread explicitly ignores Nine Inch Nails because that is obvious
but beyond that look at all the post-Industrial (in this context anything from the wave of music inspired by Throbbing Gristle) bands and the majority of them are all shit, especially in the whole electronic goth scene.
You have bands that try to emulate Skinny Puppy and their style, like Wumpscut, velvet acid christ, Gridlock etc but they either come short or sound really cheesy and shit.
Why hasn't there been at least one band with the charisma and artistry of Skinny Puppy, the closest thing I have ever found is Propergol but that's an ambient/death industrial band and not really similar to Skinny Puppy in terms of the whole electro-Industrial sound.
There are hundreds and thousands of bands and not one of them comes close or is decent
