Curing weed

    Any tips or suggestions.
Right now I have a wonderful plant that's been in the basement for the last 48 hours with no light.
I plan on cutting and hanging it for about a week or so then trimming it down and drying it out on a rack for another week then transfer to mason jars to finish the job.
The basement is pretty dry and I run a dehumidifier 24/7.
The plant was fully flushed before putting it in the basement.

Don't bother hanging it, just distribute the buds into paper bags, then rotate the buds daily for about a week to promote airflow and check for budrot, then during the cure process be sure to continue checking the buds in the jars for bud rot for at least 30 days. If you want you can throw shit like mint leaves or something in with it while it cures to make it take on a different flavor.

Some people suggest dropping the temp a few days before harvest since terpenes are volatile and the higher the temp, the faster they bleed out. So for maximum flavor, get the temp right. The temp shouldn't fluctuate either, and lower temperature will slow the drying process somewhat, but lower humidity will counteract that. It's best to get the temp and humidity perfect.

Some people suggest 65F to 75F and 45 to 50% humidity. I'd go with the lower numbers, even if it takes a bit longer. I've met a lot of good growers that weren't very patient, didn't have a hygrometer, and didn't pay much attention to the temp of the room their plants dried in, and while they had high THC, the flavor was lacking somewhat.

If you screw up the drying part, the curing part is not going to be as good. Curing will make it smoother even if the drying part is screwed up, but you'll lose flavor.

Err on the side of caution when it comes to dryness. Any sort of damp plant material left in a jar will get moldy.

Well I got the plant all trimmed and on a drying rack,I have a dehumidifier going 24/7 temp is a 65 degrees f.
Going to put them in mason jars in a few more days.
Next plant I'm going to try water curing, that looks a little scary but I"m up for it.
Also want to make some vape juice, just bought one these guys today.
