2019-08-29 at 12:44 AM UTCI'm starting to believe the theory that the 'trade war' is just a pretext, that Trump pushes it because he knows that there's no possibility of China giving in and coming to an agreement. The real purpose is to completely detach US industry from Chinese in order to set the stage for another cold (at least to start with) war. This fits with why he's pushing the Federal Reserve so hard; the idea being that the disastrous effects of the detachment can be postponed until at least after the 2020 elections if interest rates are kept low enough.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!
