My car door is loose and swings back at me immediately

It's lost any resistance that allowed it to hang outwards for more than a second except all the way out and just barely then.

Is there a way I can tighten something on it so it'll have more resistance when I open it? It probably happened from the previous owner swinging it too hard or slamming the door too often, which is also why I think the seal has gotten worn out and sounds like air comes in while driving, it feels loose when I close it.

Is the molding still around the door? If you hear air coming in, maybe it’s not. Hell, what do I know, I’m a girl😉

Never said they didn't but they don't worry about something so trivial.

Well I get in and out of my car like 50 times a day because I drive delivery so it does become pretty irritating

Also: does anybody know what I can use to cover up some scrapes that I'm not sure whether they got down tothe metal or not, but a product to keep it from rusting? I don't know if I can obtain the right colour of paint or not, so just some kind of sealant would be fine.

Look at your door hinges, you should see the damper that hold the door open and figure out from there why it isn't working.

put some fucking clear coat on it.

Order a new door seal or make your own for cheap.

Replace the door hinge, or repair your own by replacing or shimming the rubber piece inside of it.

It is friction that holds the door open. You might try opening the door fully and slightly widen the gap in your bar as it enters your door with the pointed end of a tire iron. Worth a shot or at least a perusal of that situation.

    Not a girl!
