   Because EI only lasts for a year and in my opinion you don't get enough to survive. If you were working full time you likely have bills to pay, rent and on top of that you are spending your time and money looking for employment
   
   Money gets tight quickly when the EI runs out because nobody ever saves it because you don't get much
