When you look back on your life, do you ever really think about the different paths you could have taken along with the pros and cons of each choice?
Are you satisfied with your decision based on the fact that trying to hard is likely to result in stress and regretting not taking it easy, and not not trying hard enough is likely going to result in a lower quality of life?

You couldn't have done it differently than the way you did it, but even if you could've, you don't know where that path would have led... maybe it would have led to you getting hit by a bus or something like that. So try not to regret your past. You're here now, seize the day.

If you live a long life, all those people in your life, the ones you thought were so important, you will outlive, and they will all be gone. You will be left alone. And they will have taken all your mistakes with them.

All the time, every waking moment of every day. I spent long enough trying to forget, that got me no where.

I do this all the damn time.
Being able to look back and reflect on the cause-and-effect chain that molded you into who are today is one of the most valuable activities you can engage in.
The little butterflies are what ultimately determine your fate, not the big tsunamis they result in.
Sometimes we can actually use some of this insight to create a better future for ourselves, or avoid making the same mistakes, but also, sometimes it's just cool to know how our current selves were made.
