Learning something when you're a complete beginner sucks

I'm sitting here on my bed right next to my casio keyboard from 2008 and I'm like "LEARN TO PLAY THE FUCKING GODDAMN THING ALREADY GODDAMN" but as soon as I sit down to actually go through with it I feel frozen and like something is holding me back.
The thing is as soon as I get a basic foundation going it'll come to me more easily and quickly, I just need to get over the initial energetic barrier.

Take a small dose of stimulants and try again.

So far you don't seem to be enjoying it very much, if you can't sit down to for a minute to learn something you want to learn.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

You probably need a teacher to play the keyboard. It's hard to play with all ten fingers.

I have always been this way.

My mind is just heavily reliant on stimulation and if I'm in a situation where I'm not getting loads of it (this is probably from growing up constantly browsing the web) I just feel like my mind shuts down and refuses to do anything.

I'm not really learning to play a piano/keyboard, I'm just using this to get familiar with the basics of music theory so I can go on to make some stuff in a DAW (Renoise in my case).

You're both wrong (and projecting idiots)
My brain requires lots of stimulation so sitting down and learning something from the absolute beginning takes a lot of discipline and patience, both of which I have very little of.

There is a word for someone who lacks both discipline and patience ... lazy.

I suffer from hyperthyroidism or something
I have plenty of desire to do things, it's just very hard for me to discipline myself.
