It is inevitable that eventually society will collapse and with this one being so dependent on technology and electricity a true dark age would be the biggest sobering event of the past tens of thousands of years.
What would such an age be like?
It will resemble something like the game The Last of Us, appearance wise it will look like the early/mid 21st century, the mentally ill and violent will roam the streets like zombies, there will be fungal and greenery appearing in the crumbling cities that will become dangerous ghost towns, reflections of a civilization that once was.
Suburban towns and small cities will become heavily fortified fortresses where fascism will return once more.
Just take a visit to a place like Los Angeles, see all the shitskins and homeless?
What will happen when the system goes down and suddenly the rule of law is thrown out the window?
The zombies will cannibalize passerbys, militia men in hasmat suits will gun them down, it will literally be a survival horror game come to life. -

Why do you think social media has become so hivemindy since the 2010s?
People are being groomed for this, eventually they'll use BCI technology to turn people into some sort of literal hivemind.
