Lately with the talk of BCI technology, artificial intelligence and satellites it seems as though the dystopic science fiction stories have come true and we are now officially living in a cyberpunk era.
There are scientific pursuits and technological breakthroughs being made right now that would blow everyone away, if the normie masses realized what was going on they would probably fall into a state of hysteria.
There is probably a war going on right now in other dimensions and inside virtual realities.
How does the military and intelligence community of the US protect itself from all the potential threats?
It seems like a Half life type of situation would occur where they create something, or open a portal to something and suddenly the universe is consumed.
If I were a scientist or official who was in charge of research projects and government stuff I would demand that A.I. research be prevented and classified as a weapon of mass destruction, and that all government funding go towards protecting ourselves against such threats.

When I was in my teens I had such a humanistic and "sane" view of reality.
The mechanisms of reality and what was really going on, none of that came to mind.
While I would ride my bike around my hometown, or play Final Fantasy XII on my tiny little tiny, I had no clue that literal sci-fi like things were happening across the planet and this reality.
To think that things like the Nine Inch Nails album "Year Zero" seemed like complete fiction, something that would and could never come about .... but it ended up being a documentary.

The bible says that if they were left to their own devices, they would destroy the entire planet and everyone on it. But that won't be permitted to happen, and their time will be cut short. Just as they get the capability to destroy the entire planet, it will be game over for all of them. The aliens won't allow them to have that kind of power in their hands.

Never mind quantum gateways. The USA should be more worried about their electrical grid, because that's their Achilles heel. If any hostile nation gets a single EMP warhead through, that would cause massive fatalities, the entire banking system would shut down, no one would be able to do business. All phones would stop working. Life would come to a standstill, in the dark, with no end in sight. It takes 15+ years to build those generators, so power ain't gonna be coming back anytime soon after an EMP attack.

The US protects itself by not having a defence but instead also having it's own version of those weapons, that's why nukes are a thing, mutually assured destruction.

Thread title is a joke since Silicon Valley is the leading opponent against the Chinese in both developing A.I. and this new Quantum Technologies. America is paying Silicon Valley, their group of Scientists, Researchers, Lab Rats tons of cash with an open door flow policy to be the first to control this new technology.
But it is going to lead to some times already spoken about. Technology like this will separate humanity forever.
