Why is "colored" offensive and not "black"?

    If it wasn't the word of choice for segregation signs it would probably be the polotically correct word today and black would be wrong to say. Colored sounds nicer imo.

    Being called colored implies that there is a default state and that they are the afterthought. It’s like saying we should all be white until we are colored in with other colors. Being called black evens the playing field and describes people by the color of their skin like black, white, or brown.

    It would be like saying black and colorless are the only two options. Like black is the default and all else is lacking color.

    colored is what people from the deep south parts of the USA, wearing a white pointed hood, riding horseback, carrying a lit torch for light, with the emblem of KKK as their purpose patch, say to People of African Descent, which we are all from African Descent. Usually right before lynching the person of African Descent. Colored is a rather ignorant choice to even want to say, let alone think about saying it!!
