For real though doesn't Neuralink freak everyone here out?
I just realized that if that tech gets into the wrong hands humanity could forever be trapped in a virtual prison.

I'd say we aren't in a simulation where everyone else is AI simply because if that was the case we'd be in a better place in life. There wouldn't be a real reason not to simulate us to the top, you know?
As far as the multiplayer simulation scenario goes it's a pretty shitty simulation. There's really no reason to simulate homeless people et cetera.
The most likely simulation would be a flat out all of us are AI situation, and the purpose could be just about anything.
What I DO think is that we're an alien experiment of sorts. They picked the beings most like them physically, gave them sentience, nudged them in the right direction a couple times, and are watching things unfold either right in front of us, or just far enough away that we don't see it.
