2019-07-16 at 4:30 PM UTCliberals generally tend to believe that its the govts duty to protect citizens, therefore they advocate gun control for this reason. they have a tendency to be idealistic and trust in govt, they don't imagine a future govt ever turning tyrannical. they think the democratic process will safeguard them from that.

No lol. They believe the opposite. Even social liberals do not believe in restricting gun access.
This is just further evidence of right wing propaganda. I get that many who identify as liberals may believe in harsher gun control, but it is not a liberal belief. Conservative/liberal are not opposites by any means. Most Republicans are pretty staunch liberals. Moreso than the left even. -

I'm not saying anyone is. I'm just saying that the right typically uses 'liberal' as a blanket smear word when what they really mean is 'social liberals' who only believe the wellbeing of the individual should be included in the whole 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness' thing, which was copied from John Locke lol (life, liberty, and estate). So healthcare, food stamps, welfare, etc.
Has nothing whatsoever to do with gun control. Liberalism is literally the foundation of modern society. Freedom of religon, equal rights, etc. Anything which has to do with gaining more freedom and rights for the individual and returning to the 'natural state' of man where everyone is equal and free without any higher forces telling us what to do. -

Well he isn't Chinese. I mean, my Chinese is still pretty shit, but its easy enough to tell that he doesn't know ANYTHING. He just facepalms and tells me I'm wrong. The few times he's used Chinese it had glaring google translate mistskes.
Recently he couldn't differentiate between 汉语 and 中文。 Both translate to 'Chinese' on google but 汉语 is a general word for the language and 中文 is for written Chinese. He thought 汉语 (hanyu. Literally translates to language of the han, the major ethnic group in China) was some dumb shit i made up and started talking about how i wouldn't call them 'hanese'. But 汉语 is literally on the cover of every single piece of Chinese language learning literature i have. I'm pretty sure the Beijing language and culture university didn't fuck up.
I'm certain he thought this because China in Chinese is 中国。 He probably saw the zhong and made his retard assumptions.
Idk if he's asian but he's definitely not Chinese. -

Sounds like some bullshit to me. You probably don't know any chinese at all and this is just one big smoke and mirror game where you are the one using shitty google translate and he is the one pointing out that you're retarded. -

according to the conventions of english,
the language of england and the peole of england can both be called english.
and your going to call the people of china han people, then you have to call them and their language both as hanese.
pretty simple concept. -

I literally went to Asia last year and used it on a daily basis for about a month. Which is why I learned it, to talk to people.
With English, Spanish, and Chinese, I can now can speak to ~25% of the world in their native language. I started on Polish because I found a cheap book, but it sucks. I'll probably start on Arabic soon with my friend.
