Positive and Negative Eugenics

To some extent I believe in both. We already engage heavily in negative eugenics via abortion, and I have mixed feelings about it, but rationally I believe it's more positive than negative overall. Western European countries (lmao) are beginning to once again poke their noses into more kinds of negative eugenics- killing retarded people. There were no down syndrome babies born in Iceland a year or two ago because they all got aborted. There was an interview in Iceland or Norway I think where scientists were talking to a totally unaware down syndrome guy about how much money downies cost the state and how much money could be saved if there weren't any, and the downie did not understand the implication. I think as babies are more able to be screened for genetic defects in the womb, more and more voluntary abortions will not only be encouraged, but perhaps at some point mandated due to economic, social, and *cough* ethical reasons. Looking out for baby brother's best interests..

Positive eugenics is not just things like crispr but also merging with technology to make cybernetically enhanced human capabilities available to those who can grasp it. If there is a way in which biological statis is achievable, my gut does not tell me that people will be going to great lengths to distribute these technologies to debbie fat fuck to hog up resources and ruin forever with her gummy smile and shitty kids.
