2016-12-18 at 3:19 PM UTCMy cousin and my aunt were in a terrible fight when her mom died, so she wrote my cousin out of the will and all of her jedielry went to my other cousin. Now, the first cousin had already called this cousin (who is really a saintly woman) an awful cunt and broken ties over something trivial, so she broke into her house and took all of the jedielry and pawned it out of spite. Now her dad is writing her out of his will.

2016-12-19 at 3:38 AM UTCI guess my aunt had a bit of a hysteric episode a little while ago which is kinda wierd since she's like the sanest person in my family (married in, no blood relation, always suspected there's a link there). Apparently she went to my cousin's (her daughter's) school about something and ended up getting thrown out, the implication being she made some kind of big scene or something and of course that put her at odds with my cousin. And a couple of other theatrical displays (at least in retelling).
Kind of hate the way it was handled though. No one told me about it for a while which is fair enough, none of my business, but then when I was informed it was in hushed tones and with a lot of euphemisms. I guess that's kind of a societal norm but I can't help but feel like there was a tangible sense of shame from others around having a family member with a mental illness. I can't imagine that's helpful to recovery (the poor gal was already kind of on the outside for being the only person in the usual cast at family events who wasn't a blood relative) and it's always good to know you can go to your family with problems and get judged for it. -

That sounds like it was really difficult from your position, I'm glad you weren't personally caught in the middle. Your description of your family reminds me of my own, the men of my family are notoriously scoundrels and eventually find themselves alone and miserable - a fate I've had to witness, determined not to follow myself.
After my dad cheated on my mom, they had a messy divorce with me and my sisters in the middle. This other woman was then in my life constantly, she was like a second mother to me and her own kids are like my brothers and sisters, so there are some weird, twisted feelings involved in there because I had to lie to my mother about where I was and what I was doing from an early age. This went on for 15 years until maybe two Summers ago, when Mommy #2 found some incriminating texts going through my dad's phone for birthday present ideas. He had made arrangements with an old flame, and they were to meet during an upcoming business trip. The guillotine came down, she dumped him with a series of very public displays and he was kicked out of her house and my second family has been cut out from my life since. -

Because I was really high and going a bit crazy. It took 5 of them to hold me down and they fucked up my arms.
