They switched from GT2 to GT3 regulations in 2012, so the cars are slower. That combined with the fact that they have four different classes based on driver experience yet running the same rules just kinda ruins it.
What we end up with is four different classes of 6-10 cars that aren't actually competing with each other
It's still pretty cool, just not as cool as it was
As I understand it though, FIA didn't have much of a choice as the costs of building cars to the GT2 regulations was getting so high that nobody wanted to do it
I haven't been to a live one, they don't typically race in the US. I've always wanted to though -

I like NHRA but it's hard to sit through 55 minutes of commercials and filler for the 5 minutes of racing

I like the FIA WEC as well, but it sucks that any major manufacturer that competes in the prototype categories utterly decimates the competition -
