Well I started, and they were established. I am their manager, they are my report. That only makes it more awkward to address, but TBH, if it was the other way around, my life would be shit. They are established, know everyone, know how the company works, and quite aggressive. They are a PA to some important people, and name drop constantly - this has lead to MY manager being intimidated. They are a person of, imo, low moral standards, and I will be saying so to senior management on monday, and luckily I can easily go outside the organisation due to certain things this person has said against themselves. They have made various verbal allegations against me, however I demanded these allegations in writing, and they promptly disappeared. I was (verbally) discouraged from pursuing a resolution to these allegations.
There is a very large gap between the verbal and written record within my organisation.
I have honestly disengaged with my persecutor, and played it day by day, as my job involves a lot of coding, and no one else in my job can do that besides me. I suspect they are widely hated, and only tolerated due to their perceived (bluffed) utility to the senior management team within the organisation.

I don't get the dynamics here. They're PA's to important people but you're their manager? If so. Tell them that you are the most important person in the fucking room because they are replaceable and you have the authority to replace them.
