yeah, but people typically *seem to* look at slavery as a white enterprise. without even looking at the wider history of it, even US-African slavery was essentially a market the white settlers bought into - taking them overseas to be worked to death isn't objectively all that much worse than being taken to the next province or country to be worked to death. -

Tribes and groups were regularly at war with each other and before the industrial revolution slavery was the fastest way to get things done. There's a slave market in Libya today, and there still would be in Syria and Iraq if the 'rebels' had won.

I think its worse. A lot of them died in transit due to neglect. Google says 15-30% -
