Seems to work out for the rest of the civilized world -
2019-07-03 at 3:19 PM UTCThe only good thing about the healthcare system is it's free here for the most part but it's not as high quality.
Some of my family has had medical treatment done in the USA because they can afford it and don't want to be on a waiting list for years. -

It's better than not getting the surgery or whatver because you can't afford it. Or going into massive debt if you do. Like even just a basic ER visit without insurance costs thousands of dollars.
I mean I've pulled out my own stitches just to avoid going to the doctor. I've bought medicine from India because its cheaper. I still need to see a cardiologist too.
Right now my insurance is pretty shit and it won't pay for some dental stuff I need. I will probably have to just get it extracted even though the tooth can be saved. -
2019-07-03 at 3:37 PM UTCDental isn't free here either unless you're on disability. My mom had healthcare coverage through her work and still spent thousands of dollars

So what's covered by the government then? Insurance here HAS to cover dental here thanks to Obama. As well as mental/rehab/gyno type stuff. Also you could be discriminated against for pre-existing conditions, which happened to me repeatedly when I was a kid and needed heart surgery. My parents had to pay out the ass for insurance that would cover it. And even still it took like ten years for them to pay it off.
Funny how some sort of government Healthcare reform has become a bi-partisan issue since Obamacare. People realized how nice it was to have their taxes go towards something that actually personally helps them. -

You are really gullible lol. I say a lot of shit that isn't true. And the only post i can imagine you're thinking of is the one where I said my parents give me 250k every year or some ridiculous number. -

2019-07-03 at 3:53 PM UTCUniversal health care is not all it's cracked up to be. In Canada, there is universal free health care, but you could be lying next to dead in a stretcher in the hallway for days before a doctor decided to come by and service you. People bleed out in the waiting rooms all the time. Call 9/11 for an ambulance for a heart attack and it might take hours for it arrive, if it even does. The health system doesn't don't give a shit about you in Canada, because they already get their money from the government, and then some. Because they're already all fat off the federal feeding trough, they feel there's no big hurry to help you and no big rush to keep you alive. They've already got the money; no need to make you happy. When they have to actually serve you to get the money, that's different.

I don't see why people don't get that. Theres plenty of people that don't want it because their able to fend for themselves. the doctors at free clinics here look like they probably are quacks that should be working in a prison or something -

Literally 90%+ of the so-called "doctors" in Canada aren't really doctors, but they all try to pass themselves off as doctors for the $$$. They take some 8-week course down at the mall and are then given a certificate to practice limited medicine, but they open up offices that look just like doctors offices, but they're not doctors. All they can do is put a bandaid on you or give you general advice or refer you to a specialist. They can't even prescribe. It's a joke. The only real doctors here are actually called general practitioners (GPs), and they are so rare that you could wait years to get one, and you may not even be able to get one. All the real doctors are fat as 300-pound hogs off the public tit already, so there's no need at all for them to be after your money. -

Drugs, hospital visits, mental health stuff. Ambulances are $50. Clinics are free but sell Services like diphenhydramine shots for $15 if you are having an allergic reaction.
I want to find a crooked clinic that shoots me up with a gram of DPH but it would probably kill me. Sometimes you can find some really wild clinics that are desperate for that government money and write you sick notes for being fucked up on meth and get you benzos and stuff -
2019-07-03 at 4:07 PM UTCNo such thing as free healthcare, you pay either way..some directly some indirectly. Unless it's your mom putting a bandaid on your knee booboo, then it's free and you'll probably get a kiss on the knee when she's done too and a comforting "there my little baby, all better"

Most already do. Not sure about places like The Congo though..I think you might have to pay for your Witchdoctoring there. -

Fine I don't care, let me pay in taxes then. Maybe then the government will actually give a fuck about the cost of Healthcare here. It is a massive fucking scam. My friends grandma got prescribed a medicine that is 600 dollars a month with insurance.
That should never ever happen. Everybody should be able to afford medicine. If it really is expensive to produce then the government should subsidize it for the good of the people. -
