Lie on credit card application

  1. #1
What happens if I say I make more than I do? Thankfully, I don't have consistent hours or set wages. Both are incredibly variable so I have plenty of fudge room no matter what.

What happens if SWIM says he makes a lot more than he dose? 20k more? 50k more? (gross) When do they start actually checking instead of giving you an instant yes or no?

SWIM is not actually applying, but the CC company is asking him how much he makes bc they are looking to increase his credit limit bc SWIM has had his card for a yr now and been a vewy vewy good boi.

Use I in the first paragraph and SWIM in the next 2.

Well, its fraud. Illegal!!!! You probably already knew that.

I'd say I wouldn't push it more than an extra 5 or 10k, granted you say you have some leeway in that department anyway.

They would compare your application reported income to your last tax return income so anything much past that would probably be a red flag.

Hefty fines and potential but not that likely jail time.

One of coworkers was commenting on how easy it was to get a mortgage in his current job compared to his old one just the other day. Always choose accounting or similar if at all possible, it's nice, safe, secure work.

Whether the pursue the issue is a different matter. I imagine its just dependent on how hard youre fucking them over by lying. But lying whatsoever on these applications is absolutely illegal.
