    If you've ever been to a "filmed before a live studio audience" thing as a member of the audience you'll probably be familiar with the fact even then they prompt the audience to laugh.

    Years ago when working in LA we went to one with Kirsty Alley in it..can't even remember what show it was, we only went in because we were passing and they guy said do you want to come watch xxxxx show live, it's free, so we did.

    They had a couple of people either side of the stage area holding signs up that said things like "Applause" or "laugh".

    I'm thinking of trying out for stand up comedy basically I've noticed that people tend to tell stories these days and I have a shitload of stories I could tell that is fairly funny it's all about persona timing punchline I don't know I have kind of goofy face I can work on character humor voice overs try to mimic cartoon sounds living in San Francisco they say is the comedy capital course others would disagree and say it's other LA or New York City or Chicago starting off in San Francisco some of the best comedians it started out at the old Purple Onion which recently closed down some of the best such as Bob Hope Phyllis Diller Robin Williams so on so on I think Dave Chappelle did a show in the last 10 years over there and talked about that being the Hub of Comedy but I don't think it's really any notable comedy stores are left in San Francisco other than Cobbs what do you guys think let me write some material test it out on you faggets
