Have any of you been to Israel specifically Tel Aviv?

2019-06-28 at 7:53 PM UTCI was there actually like four months ago. Can anyone answer me this: why are the prices so high there and so varied in range depending on shop or district? it seems like it is a run down city in many ways but as expensive as the u.s. california. Also why are their servers so aggressive about tips? they wouldnt even take 12% syaing 15% was minimum but shouldnt they be happy they get tipped at all like servers around the world virtually in every other place except third world african or middle eastern countries? They also right away mention tips saying will service be separate or on the card before you even get your wallet out.

they probably just don't like you, as you probably look out of place there. Filthy tourist scum. We used to rob clueless tourists in tel aviv. If you were speaking English then they might have just been trying to have you.
some places look run down but the city center is always expensive. poor neighbors have cheaper products and cheaper eats.
if you were in the florentine neighborhood, its a "pretty" hipster place that wants to be like in America, hence tEEps.
They probably thought you were Russian.
