   I just checked today for the first time. I also have a line of credit open that I didn't know I had so I need to figure out what it is.
   
   I haven't had credit for a year yet so it goes up quite a bit every month.

   Future employers check credits scores now. It’s good to keep it up. I hit a low in 2003, but I was able to bring it back to the high 700s. Glad I had it when I needed to get a loan to put a roof on my house unexpectedly. Got a low interest rate too.
   
   Good credit will help you in a lot of ways.

    Yeah I don't borrow against myself with credit cards ever. I pay my bills in full every month no exceptions. The reason I use them for almost everything is for building credit and 1-5% cash back on everything. It's downright silly not to use them.
