all that shit started through the church. back in the middle ages and beyond most villages and towns were a lot more isolated because they didn't have mass transport systems or cars etc. villages would spend the vast majority of their lives just among the members of their own town. and most couldn't read or write and the printing press hadn't been invented yet. so the church would double up as their link to the outside world and also as their main source of information on anything and everything. so the priest would be a very influential dude and the conveyor of knowledge on all subjects to everybody, this was very important to people back then as you could easily imagine. anyway as men slowly started to realize the threat posed by syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases, as well as the problem of many unwanted children being born bastards due to there being little in the way of contraception, among other related problems. so the church, who would also double up as the only source of information concerning health and family planning etc, would start to see how sex outside of marriage was becoming apparent to be a very risky and socially damaging endeavor. so, simply in the interests of a public health matter they would start to advise people to abstain from sexual relations outside of wedlock as the only solution that was an option to them in those times. but over generations they would start to lose sight as to the origin of the reason why the church was suggesting this. all they knew was that the church was advising that sex outside of marriage was considered bad and unclean, remember nobody could read to find out any different. possibly even later generations of priests over decades and centuries either even also lost sight as to the origins or were being shrewd and using the public ignorance to push their agendas. either way it came to the point that people just associated casual sex to be against the will of the church and so therefore against the will of god, so is a sin. then it just carried on from there.

before there was sport cars and private jets the only few privilledges a king had was that they get to fuck whoever they want, whenever they want and however they want.
