Wrong.
"The S-Plan or Sabotage Campaign or England Campaign was a campaign of bombing and sabotage against the civil, economic, and military infrastructure of the United Kingdom from 1939 to 1940"
The aftermath of an IRA bike bomb

The aftermath of an IRA bike bomb
The bomb was believed to have been meant for an electricity generating plant in the outskirts of Coventry.[2] However in 1969 whilst speaking to Irish journalist, Mike Burns, O'Sullivan is claimed to have planted the bomb and said that the intended target was a police station and that the bike kept get getting stuck in tram tracks meaning it had to be abandoned.[1][7]

Rock means rock or roar (hence rock and roll) in Norse.
In Irish we call rocks Carrig. Carrick is a very common place name in Ireland.
The Irish never were interested in sailing as much as Norse people were. Lots of Irish are actually Norse in origin though, and vice versa. -

i had a danish boss at a commercial bakery when i was 17. went in one night a few hours after having dropped what i thought at the time was a moody acid tab, turned out it wasn't. i mixed up 3 loads of dough in a row and forgot to put the yeast in every time. the boss ended up telling me he would punch my face in if i didn't stop laughing.
