Just something I have noticed over many years. Guys who are into cars and motorcycles seem to know their way around complicated technology and work around lots of chemicals. Naturally these people are adept weed growers (lights, ballasts, pumps, nutes) and drug cooks (heaters, flasks, solvents, chemicals).
It's a very manly thing to want to work with your hands and manipulate matter so I think these things so hand in hand.

That's pretty close to true.
It's the case for the current generation of people in their 20's too. Films like The Fast and the Furious with the street racing, gun fights, pretty Asian ladies etc and the glamorous fast cars (not gay limos) mean people who like those fast 4 cylinder cars with the rims and custom paint jobs are going to see gangster life as glamorous as that's the only place you see these cars. They're also gonna adopt stereotypical gangster / rapper fashion to complete the image.
And if you see people in these cars and think they look cool or like they have fun, you're going to identify them with that subculture.
And then games like GTA add to it.
That's young people though.
Older white guys who are in to gasoline like muscle cars and Harley's.
Respray shops and mechanic shops and especially custom mod shops are owned and run by biker gangs. Always. Or paying protection. Or getting firebombed for stealing business or not paying protection.
So yeah, younger people see girls in bare midriff tops hanging out with guys in EVO's and identify them as street gangster types, and the girl is attracted to that image so the guy is probably a bit loose and violent or thuggish. Or she wouldn't consider him the complete package.
And the older guys? Bikers or affiliated.
New mechanics being trained who love cars? GTA and Fast and Furious influenced. And fashionably street hood.

I mostly mean all the old guys. Every weed grower I ever met is shocked I don't know anything about engines.. Even the female ones..
