So then I have something to do for mild amusement when I get home and review the videos. I set the resolution to above 1080 and can plug it into my TV and see good detail. I've been parking near the other coworkers cars and cracking the windows to try to hear what they talk about out there but the camera alone doesn't pick up the sound good enough to hear, so I think i'll leave a phone or ipad with a sound recording app stuck to the visor near the cracked window and start the recording the same time I start recording video. Thats just until I buy this cool $35 digital sound recorder that's magnetic and I can stick under the car.

Get a dashcam that doesn't have to be left on 24/7. Mine automatically activates if someone comes within 10ft of it or something like that.
I have it plugged into a portable power source meant for chanrging things in case it might drain the car battery. It's not 24/7 just during driving most times when left parked. I tried out the motion detect setting once and I think it turns the screen on each time it trips and might use more than if its just recording the whole time with the screen black; and might be better to leave continuously record if it will get tripped alot anyways.
