lulzar, looks like that wasn't accurate. fucking hell, I know there are people who will still pay $999 but how many people are going to realise how hard apple's gouging them and jump ship?

There are two paths that company can take:

    - continue to be this greedy and die out within a decade
    - fire the people who come up with this shit and reinvent the company

    LIKE FUCKING GODDAMN

They want you to pay $6,000 for the monitor, but it doesn't come with a stand, you'll need to pay an additional $1,000 for that.
This is the most insane, bullshit move any tech company has made in my entire lifetime.

This sort of behaviour seems to have accelerated (and innovation diminished) since Steve Jobs got too thin and light to function, so it stands to reason that a lot of this comes from Tim "The Rim" Cook - I don't see him going anywhere.

As I see it Apple was largely a personality cult around Steve Jobs with many of the design choices either coming from him personally or stemming from his philosophy, so it's no wonder that the company cannot function as well as it did under him without completely reinventing itself.

invenstors are blind. they will need to sell off instead of making apple a number 1 2 3 company and promoting this blush.

If you can't afford a Mac then that's probably because you don't deserve one. Serious artisans don't mind spending money on their tools.

funnily enough that's probably the biggest factor that did the soviet union in - the 'succession problem'. the younger generation didn't understand the goal of the system; they only saw the corruption and how much better individuals in the west were doing.

it seems to me that the same thing is happening in the west now, with much larger numbers of younger generations being willing to embrace alternative systems like socialism, fascism and even monarchy.

I wouldn't even use a monitor that cost less than $2000. Anything less than that and the colours are all distorted and the image so pixelated you can barely even make it out. You'll damage your eyes. No thanks.

Apple hardware is legendarily reliable, literally never breaks, and their customer support is amazing.

When you go to the Mac store you shouldn't even look at the prices. You should go prepared to max out your credit cards. These machines are worth it, no matter what. The more you spend the more you will make. I upgrade my Mac twice a year, as soon as I have paid off the previous one. A visit to the Apple store is an almost spiritual experience for me. I sleep with my PowerMac.
