I get what you're saying and you're right, but I mean it's not like there was no white person in America who could have done what she did. Doesn't diminish what Katherine Johnson did at all, but white people could have hypothetically made it off the ground without her. She wasn't irreplaceable, she was just damn good at her job. -

I don't see how that follows at all. She was an integral part of the team, and she deserves credit for that. Also more akin to someone who works in the back office than a cashier (all those white guys in mission control are your cashiers), but whatever. -

So the people who do the actual work get the table scraps, but the "integral to the team" affirmative action hire (yes, even NASA in the 60s had affirmative action, they even had a black astronaut in the pipeline who got shitcanned by Chuck Yeager (secret Nazi imo) due to being so far behind "The Right Stuff" having West Virginians). -
