depends entirely on the details and feasibility. as far as I've thought it through there are only a few ways to break the current system's back, and given human nature it'd most likely rebuild itself fairly quickly - without changing people on a massive scale (through genetic engineering, mind control or whatever else) these social systems of control will come back simply because people want them to. -
