2019-05-24 at 10:21 PM UTCI think a lot of people are WAY misinterpreting mmQ here.
He's not saying rape should be legalized or something because it's a trivial occurrence.
What I think he's trying to get at is that there is kind of a logically weird way we assign our "worst things that can happen to a person" hierarchies.
Like, some people would legitimately try to argue that being raped is "worse" than being (non-fatally) stabbed.
Both are forms of non-consensual penetration.
Both are acts of violence and aggression.
Both result in physical pain and injury (however, typically the strictly physical trauma of being stabbed is going to be a lot worse than that resulting from a rape).
So why, then, does rape somehow rank higher on our socially constructed hierarchy of "bad things that can happen to a person" than a non-fatal stabbing? -

being raped basically ruins a life and ensures a woman will have trust issues, hate men yet seek to please them, become a stripper/escort etc. etc. etc. and this should be pretty clear to anyone.
Being stabbed is whatever, really only causes great emotional pain if it was someone close to you. My mother was stabbed by a boyfriend when she would young and had lasting scars for a long time. Meanwhile I know a ton of women who've been raped and are shells of their former selves. -

My point wasn't so much one of trying to hammer out a solid hierarchy, but rather to point out that mmQ's initial point, at least, what I interpreted it to be, precisely follows from your post.
You've explained what typically happens as a result of the event, but there's no explanation as to the why.
Why is one event so much more devastating than the other?
Its more of a philosophical question than an empirical one.
And also, if women end up hating men after being raped by a man? Who do men end up hating and distrusting if they are raped (by another man)?
Its a complex, and potentially interesting topic, but is virtually impossible to debate without people jumping the gun and letting the emotionality of it take hold.
That being said, I'm being incredibly charitable when interpreting mmQ's point. -

Because a bitches inherent biological function is corrupted and intimacy and trust are taken by Bill Krozby. They feel less of a woman, less of a human, like their life has less value and a bunch of other stuff. If you get stabbed you just "charge it to the game." I've never been stabbed (come very close many times) but I have been hit with a baseball bat on several different occasions and wasn't really sour about it, nor did I feel a sense of powerlessness or that I was less of a man.
But yeah, I woke up to a girl sucking my dick before and I felt kinda weird about that but I passed back out fucked her the next day I think. I feel weirder about that then all the violence I've had perpetrated upon myself. When I was quite young I had an incident where I was basically (literally) sexually assaulted by 3 slightly older girls and that has stayed with me my whole life and probably influenced my sexual development. Blah -

I get what you're saying, and I don't think I really disagree with any of it.
But the interesting question under it all, the "why" - you do kinda touch on it actually with the following...nor did I feel a sense of powerlessness or that I was less of a man
But one with a more scholarly interest in the topic would have to question this even further (WHY does sexual violence invoke a sense of powerlessness and loss of (wo)manhood and all that, while other violence does not? Is it strictly biological? Or is it cultural? or some combination thereof?).But yeah, I woke up to a girl sucking my dick before and I felt kinda weird about that but I passed back out fucked her the next day I think. I was trying to stick exclusively to forced penetrative sex, NOT because I wanted to downplay any other form, but simply to make the debate a lot easier.
But, of course, if you factor in woman on man rape, woman on woman rape, statutory rape, drug-facilitated rape, etc, etc, etc... It becomes an ever more complex issue. -

Originally posted by mmQ I don't know how to word this properly but I mean at the end of the day a rape doesnt HAVE to be traumatic.
If a guy forcibly fuck4d my ass, I wouldn't like it probably and I would be offended but I wouldnt live the rest of my life all TRAUMATIZED and weird.
Like whatever. It sucks. Wish it disnt happen but why is it Suuuuch a big deal?
i've actually pondered this myself. i mean say somebody beat you repeatedly in the face and then spat in your mouth. that's as violent and as invasive as rape is really. just because it involves your sexual organs i don't see what big a difference that makes of it personally.

2019-05-25 at 1:04 AM UTCZooks and narc get it. I just needed at least one person to understand.
Thank you. -
2019-05-25 at 1:05 AM UTCi mean obvs somebody using my body for their own selfish pleasure like i'm some unimportant sex toy at their disposal when they feel like it, like i don't matter and get no say in it would suck. but i'm pretty sure i could just get over it and move on. look to the future an all that. obvs take measures to ensure it didn't happen again. and no comment on what i'd do to the perp, wouldn't be going to no cops that's for sure.

I would say thank you may I have another. That's literally what sex is to me. It's about trust and intimacy and reproductive function being co-opted and being reduced to the sum of your parts. If you were fucking a bitch and she pulled a gun out of her twat, pistol whipped and robbed you it might have the same effect. If you don't like rough sex you're literally mormon -
2019-05-25 at 1:13 AM UTCMq, all that matters is that I would not rape you. I wouldn't rape you, okay? We're friends...and friends don't do that to other friends.

85% of girls (and probably guys) who say they're into rough sex really aren't tho. Choking, spanking and hair pulling isn't rough sex, it's just basic sex. It's actually making love.
Fucking--slapping, spitting, scratching, face mashing, squeezing/pinching until wincing ---less than 10% of total body covered in bruises=/=fucking
Rough sex-- forceful insertion, complete disregard for the others safety, bindings, sensory deprivation, keeping going when the other person says "no" or "stop" saying horrible and personal things to each other that make each other angrier, whips, leaving the bitch shaking, sweating and scared for a while then going back in and beating it up etc. etc. etc.

2019-05-25 at 1:40 AM UTCIt's devastating for some people because that's just the way it is. That's like asking "why do you feel feel so hurt when I pinch you? It's just gathering up a bit of skin and applying a little pressure." There's probably a syntactical explanation but that would probably not give you a reductive answer.
