Back when I was living out of a minivan, I used piss jugs when I didn't want to go to the trouble of sauntering outside in the middle of the night.
I have to admit to being so lazy, though, that I've considered doing the same even now that I'm living in an apartment, with a bathroom a mere few feet from my bed.
if it's cold as fuck and you're living in a car/van, it's just like camping. But I would use a big mouth snapple bottle to do the same. praying I didn't fill it to the top. Then toss it closed up in a plastic bag and tied up and then inside another plastic bag which I double tied. I was parked in a garage and didn't want the smell of piss outside. if I was parked near a large park (say Golden Gate that's huge) then I would try and get out to pee.. but if it's raining or cold as fuck.. the bottle is a good thing to have. I think you can go to a medical supply store and purchase a urinal bottle.. but it would just smell so a snapple bottle is good to have. plus air freshener in the car.

RE: Drinking water
If humans were meant to drink water we wouldn't have hundreds of years of methods to make water drinkable.
