I mean, I think what it is is a psychological feeling of security knowing your government can't fuck you over so hard that there's no coming back from shitsville. Not that it would necessarily get to that point if we didn't have guns, but it's nice to know that the government can not do something radical in a short period of time without having to consider the consequences of such.
They can certainly get to a radical point, but not quickly. -

Yeah, that shit was fucked up and I don't blame Timothy McVeigh for what he did. Fuckers want to hide in a building with a daycare, while its sad and tragic, its the consequences of war and fucking people over. You got to think SOMEONE somewhere might just say "fuck this" and make a statement. -

it can be argued that the feds was intentionally setting up a nursery there as a human shield to deter conscionable terrorists. -
2019-05-15 at 8:18 PM UTCOf course feds get their kids minded for them. How many private sector employees get that?
And weev pointed out, there never was another Waco or Ruby Ridge. -
2019-05-15 at 8:43 PM UTCPeople might say "what about the children?!" In the bombing McVeigh did, but what about the children at Waco or Ruby Ridge? That was OUR OWN GOVERNMENT attacking it's people. How could they not expect someone to have a brain... They fucking televised the atrocity of Waco on national television for fucks sake.

because americans finally came to their senses and disillusionment and realize that when tactically dressed and tactically armed men come to you in tactically armored vehicles, theres really nothing they can do other than to curl up like a bitch and say
please.
as had the various flavor of IRAs had. -

What about that farm siege a few years back? If I remember right they eventually surrendered, but only after the ATF cut off their power and water and killed all their livestock. -

2019-05-16 at 11:11 AM UTCON TOPIC, the Yemenis have struck KSA's oil processing facilities with Iranian drones lul. The damage was so severe that ARAMCO has cut off the main national pipeline and it's the first time the Saudis haven't even tried to deny that the attack took place.

If it comes down to it, the US has no defence from or answer to modern hypersonic (KINZAHL, AVENGARD) and ballistic (SARMAT-2, DF-21b) missiles, so in the case of open warfare with Russia or China, they're going to jump straight to the nuclear option. -
2019-05-16 at 2:41 PM UTCThe shit is about to hit the fan, folks. An all-out world war is inevitable, and it's right around the next bend. Better get a generator and fuel and supplies, because once the lights go out, the zombies will be in the streets, and they won't be happy.

I want to give a balanced opinion, but I honestly think you might be right.
'The Global South's' (geopolitically, mostly Russia and China) plan has been to slowly erode US dominance without triggering a military conflict, often giving in to brutal US demands in order to preserve their position in the 'long game' they're playing.
The current short-term Iran situation is something that they cannot abide though - conceding a defeat here would compromise their position in the long game.
Like I said earlier, it's not ideal but the US is willing to go to war with Iran if their demands are not met, and Iran cannot meet those demands without collapsing as a state. There is no path that doesn't lead to war unless one side backs down, and neither will. If forced to, China will openly flout the oil embargoes forced on Iran, which will in turn embolden other states.
If the US goes to war with Iran, Russia and China will join - some say that this is not the case, they are wrong. Chinese and Russian prosperity is directly tied to the survival of Iran:
1. China relies on Iranian oil and gas imports, and even if they were able to make do without they would be forced to rely on demonstrably-aggressive US-controlled suppliers and infrastructure - essentially allowing the US to hamstring and control the price of their energy deliveries, in turn controlling the pace of their development.
2. Iranian influence is the one major thing stopping the proliferation of extreme Sunni terror organisations in the middle east - without Iran, the Gulf-backed Salafi-Wahabbi cults and Turkish-backed Muslim Brotherhood would have a huge base, directly threatening to infest the Muslim populations in the (Russian) Caucasus and West-Chinese Xianjang.
What's more, even though it hasn't been publicly announced, it's well known within Eastern foreign-policy circles that China, Russia and Iran have been consistently discussing how they plan to work together should the US attack over the last month or so. -
