-
2019-05-15 at 10:15 AM UTCsince this place is frequented by mostly losers and/or people who adopted a losing way of life, successes must be few and far in between, so any acomplishmemts, no matter how small is noteworthy.
so post them here.
i broke my plastic licence plate in half almost a month ago and had been using box tape to hold it together ever since.
today i decided to weld it back together with a soldering iron.
it was a success.
and im proud of myself now. -
2019-05-15 at 11:59 AM UTCSo far I successfully peeled the shell off a boiled egg for breakfast and navigated my way safely 38 miles to work.

btw...using a solder iron to melt plastic is how you end up ruining your tips. Solder Iron tips are about $17...cheapo butter knife from the dollar store $1. -

It's A shame that You are unfortunate enough to reside in a country that thinks its a good idea to have plastic license plates. -
2019-05-15 at 2:42 PM UTCI'm surprised they even have license plates to be honest...or motor vehicles for that matter...it's probably a 40yr old moped held together with cord made out of cat sinew.

2019-05-15 at 2:46 PM UTCHe probably got it out of a cereal box

2019-05-15 at 3:51 PM UTCSo far today, I've managed to get out of bed and drink a cup of coffee.

my solder iron cost about something like $3+.
3rd world country. fuck yeah.
what most americans dont understand is that the things that ended up sold in the US cost only a fraction in the 3rd world country. they cost more because sellers in the US reaps a bigger profit margin.
and no, plastics can easily be removed with a wet scouring pad from a hot tip. -

lolol if you knew anything about solder tips you DONT use a scouring pad on the tip...there is a VERY thin layer of tin on a tip and if you remove it or pit it...say by scouring...the tip is fucked.
Now addressing your economics...
Sure I'm sure you can buy a solder tip there for $3 instead of $17...but then I bet you can buy a butter knife for 3 cents instead of a dollar....the numbers change, the economics remain the same.
THAT'S why you're in a 3rd world country with 3rd world economics young vinny.
That's your lesson for today, tomorrows lesson will be how to take large objects in your throat without gagging...be on time.
