they would have to calculate and aim the cannon in a direction where Earth hasn't reached yet.

No it isn't, it's going to be in an orbit around the sun (between mars and the asteroid belt if I recall), not traveling out of the solar system as the voyagers are.

NASA said in 2036 it wasn't likely to hit us yet it would cross between Earth and our Moon. but there was around a 1% possibility it could be pulled into Earth if it crosses through a keyhole. I think they recently updated it to "not hitting us with absolute certainty"

Yet ESA is treating it more seriously and they have a very high confidence that if they plan now with new technology, they can slow it down to miss earth.
and that year is the first pass in 2028.

You don't really believe what NASA says, do you? Do you really think they'd tell you an asteroid had a 75% chance of hitting the Earth? No way in hell. Therefore, anything they have to say can automatically be assumed to be a probable lie. They have zero credibility.

It's possible to colonize mars, underground. The surface is going to be way too inhospitable without an atmosphere and even then it's going to be difficult.

The only bases within the next few thousand years will be underground. They may already have them. Lack of atmosphere means an awful lot of cosmic radiation can be picked up and used for electrical energy production, too. That could power the much needed cooling and heating systems.

Elon Musk is probably one of the few super rich tech company CEO types who seems like a genuine human being. I wouldn't mind having a beer with the guy.

Elon Musk is one of these CIA/Blackwater/Skunkworks shills. He's nothing more than cover. The US government had anti-gravity vehicles 60 years ago that can go 15,000mph+, from here to the UK in 15 minutes, travelling at speeds relative to the blink of an eye. Now, they're working on quantum-drives that literally exit and enter space and time itself at will, while travelling mindblowing distances far past the outer planets.

They run a special program for near earth objects that might pose a danger. It's all public info.

NASA is the only US government agency i actually appreciate. They do some good work and good science, even with the relatively microscopic budget they get from DC.

NASA is the least evil of all US agencies. And i am going to need to see some data to support your claims.
