After the war, all these scientists ended up with high-paying cushy jobs in US laboratories, provided fake identities by the government, provided free houses, free cars, free cash, and everything else they requested, and they were able to rise to very prominent and wealthy positions within the US scientific community.

They only got them if they agreed to work. They didn't say here's a house, car and cash, thats yours. And if you want to work as well we'll pay you. But you dont have to and the house car and cash are yours whatever you decide. It was all on condition that they worked. So not free.
Free means free, unconditional.

They even made wallets and handbags and lamps out of their skins. Nothing of value was wasted. They sorted all their belongings, clothes, glasses, shoes, dentures, suitcases, shaving kits, hats, baby clothes, canes, combs and brushes, etc., and had them shipped out to be refurbished/reconditioned and sold on the open market for fast cash. If they had of had the technology they have today, they would have extracted their organs while still alive and put them on ice, to be shipped out and sold to people around the world.

After getting fitted out with some nice smart suits he goes into a Nazi shoe shop to get some decent shoes to match. He asks the Nazi shoe shop guy to show him his best shoes, money no object. The guy goes in the back then comes back with a box and says "deze are authentic snake skin, dey cost ein thousand deutschmarks, I think Herr vill like deze. Try dem on bitte".
The man tries them on, walks around the shop and says " deze shoes are very comfortable, but are dey ze most expensive?"
The shop owner says "vell I do have something else, ein moment bitte". He comes back with another box. "deze are authentic COCKodile skin, dey cost zwei thousand deutschmarks, try dem on bitte".
The man tries on the COCKodile shoes, " es ist gut ja, it is like valking on air. But are deze ze bestest shoes sie haben?"
