It's now registered to me that it's too late for college.

I suspect your brother didn't get that job based solely on his business degree - he probably would've either had similar work experience or knew the guys who run the place.
well yeah you have a point, he really hasn't gone into to much detail about what he'd like to do.
When I was younger I fucked up big time while i was working at a hospital as a nursing aid, and fucked up my change in the army where I was put into the medical feild by mepps based upon my testing and what I wanted to do. I would be doing a whole hell of a lot better today had things played out differently.
I'm personally thinking about going to school myself, If I can get some kind of funding a business degree would be something Id go towards or maybe some kind of trade.
But even getting a business degree, provides him a lot of leeway as far as wanting to start something up himself (sure people can do it themselves with out school but it helps) but it looks good for plenty of jobs and it even coincides with marketing, wich he could snag that along the way.
I defintely don't think he's wanting to be a social worker, medical worker, may or may not want to be an accountant.
But yeah, I know people who went to one of the best universities in the state UT in austin, and they can't find jobs even with being in the top ten percent of their class. like my older buddy had great marks in chemistry and biology, but he can't do much with that unless he is going to be a doctor. He's been a pharmacicst and a data compiler for drug companys, which are all great jobs but you definitely don't have to pay that much to become that.
But yeah, a lil more info on what he'd like to do could help. Hell he might do a lot better getting an associates degree than going to a big university.

2016-12-01 at 6:28 AM UTCyeah if you're interested in starting your own business and just want to learn laws/procedures/etc to get started I think you'd be better off going to a technical/vocational college - they're called TAFE here, are a lot cheaper than university courses and are generally better regarded for more 'practical' skills like trades, apprenticeships and the like.

yeah, he's kinda vague about what he wants to do, I think he should kinda focus in a lil bit. It's a great thing that he's thinking about it. And he's been given some fairly straight forward tips. I look at some of the guys and girls young and old that go to school and it's not anything that he or I couldn't do
(i suck at math, my brother is a wizkid at that kind of stuff)
I could probably be a guidance / rape counselor

Because of your highly illogical posting style where you making sweeeeeeping generalizations to make it seem like you have some kind of valid point.

2016-12-01 at 4:32 PM UTCa lot of people fuck up their 20's man. you're definitely not alone. but also a shitload of people continue to fuck up their 30's and beyond. you can fix it, just cut out the bullshit and stop this defeatist thinking that it's too late or some shit. why should you continue to live in misery just because that's what you've been doing so far? i guarantee you if you quit drinking and the drugs, eat healthy, and start running a 3 or 4 times a week for just a month or two, your perspective will be so different. I mean drugs are fun and all but when you're just living so deep in this hole of shit and misery, it's doing way more harm than good.
